Cookie policy

The cookies we use, what they do, and how you can control them.

Last updated August 8, 2026

Summary

We use a small number of first-party cookies to make the site work and, once you opt in, to measure how it's used. We don't sell advertising, and no third party sets marketing cookies through us.

By default, only strictly-necessary cookies are set. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) load only after you press Accept in the cookie banner. Reject or ignore the banner and no analytics ever fires.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device so it can remember state between page loads. "Similar technologies" (local storage, session storage) work the same way and are covered by this policy.

What we use, and why

Strictly necessary

  • next-auth session cookies - keep you signed in to the admin dashboard. Not used on the public site.
  • bi-theme (localStorage) - remembers whether you picked light or dark mode.
  • bi-consent (localStorage) - remembers your cookie banner choice so we don't show the banner every visit.

Analytics (opt-in only)

  • _ga, _ga_* - Google Analytics 4. Anonymised visitor and traffic-source measurement. Loaded only after you click Accept in the cookie banner (Google Consent Mode v2: default is denied).

We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, fingerprinting, session replay, or third-party trackers that sell data on.

Your control

Change your mind at any time by clearing the bi-consentkey in your browser's site data - the banner will reappear and you can pick a different option. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly-necessary cookies will re-set themselves as needed to keep basic functionality working.
